SuDawn and her husband John have been married 51 years. They have fourteen children, adopted and biological. They have been members of Church Alive since its beginning. Together they serve as deacons and participate in multiple areas of ministry. SuDawn has had a lifelong passion for ministering to children and their families. Initially she worked with families hoping to adopt children, while also teaching others about transracial and special needs adoption. In past years they have offered a weeklong summer Vacation Bible Farm at their family farm. SuDawn created and wrote the curriculum for VBF as well as organized and managed a large staff of volunteers that made VBF a possibility in the community. The outdoor setting welcomed all children including differently abled children. As director of Children’s Ministry, SuDawn has a vision to continue to develop a program that not only ministers to the children and their families but equips them to have a lifelong relationship with Jesus as their Savior.
