Dear Church Alive Community,

I am writing to you personally because you care about our community—and because you understand that lasting impact requires both compassion and sustainability.

For nearly two decades, Kind at Heart has had the privilege of serving seniors right here in our local community. As we reflect on the lives we have touched, one truth has become increasingly clear: our greatest impact is among widows and widowers.

Today, more than 60% of the individuals we serve have lost a spouse. Many are living alone, navigating life without the help they once relied on—facing home repairs, yard work, accessibility challenges, and everyday tasks that can quickly become overwhelming. What may seem small to others often feels insurmountable to them.

When Kind at Heart shows up, it brings more than tools or labor—it brings relief, dignity, and hope. It reminds someone who feels forgotten that they are still seen and valued.

As we look ahead, our mission is growing. In 2028, Kind at Heart will celebrate 20 years of serving this community. The faithfulness of supporters like you has carried us this far, and we believe the next chapter will require us to raise the bar—to become more scalable, more sustainable, and more prepared for the growing need around us.

That is why we are launching a new initiative called “Help Us Raise the Bar – Raise the Meter to Support Our Widows.”

Our goal this year is simple and bold:

to welcome 100 new recurring donors who believe in steady, reliable support that allows us to plan, grow, and respond more effectively.

To help accelerate this effort, a generous partner has provided a $15,000 matching gift. Every new recurring gift—no matter the amount—will be matched dollar-for-dollar, up to $15,000. This means your commitment immediately doubles its impact.

Recurring support allows us to:

  • Serve more widows and widowers without delay

  • Plan projects responsibly and efficiently

  • Build long-term stability for the mission we share

I am asking you to prayerfully consider joining us as a new recurring supporter. Your monthly commitment is not just a donation—it is a statement that our widows matter, that dignity matters, and that this community is worth investing in for the long haul.

If you choose to support, please click the link in this email to sign up for recurring giving through our secure online donation page:

After signing up, simply reply to this email and let me know you’re in. I would love the opportunity to personally thank you and welcome you into this effort.

Thank you for standing with Kind at Heart—past, present, and future. Together, we can raise the bar and ensure that no widow or widower has to face these challenges alone.

With gratitude and hope,
