Justice at the Gate

Justice at the Gate

Recently, at a prayer gathering in Rogers, pastors, apostles, prophets, and intercessors met to pray and make decrees. Twenty-five years ago, I first heard the term “heartland assembly” from Cindy Jacobs. She saw our region as a heart, pumping out spiritual life to America. Now, the term was being resurrected, but it was a new day. A higher level of authority and revelation was being brought to this work of prayer.

As I went into the meeting, I heard in my spirit the words: “The God of justice is standing at the gate.” Years ago, I heard apostle Clay Nash describe a powerful messenger of God who came to him, an angel who administers justice.

As we assembled and worshipped with high praises, I kept holding what I had heard in my spirit before the Lord. I asked, “What does this mean?” The Lord added comprehension to my mind, interpreting the vision and giving me understanding. I waited to see if I would receive an unction from God to prophesy what the Lord was showing me.

The Lord gave me four scriptures to accompany the rhema word I heard.

The scene in Genesis 28 where Jacob had a dream and saw a ladder with angels ascending and descending from heaven. He called it “the gate of heaven.” Are there places where the Lord opens up heaven for his covenant people on earth? Does receiving our inheritance require angelic help?

In John 1, Jesus told Phillip that he would see the angels of God ascend and descend on the Son of Man. Can we be given to prayer, like Jesus, to the point that holy angels regularly bring communications back and forth?

As Jesus neared the end of the training period of His Twelve, he said the “gates of hell” would not prevail against the church he was building. (Mt 16) Does the modern church look like it can shake hell, or is it running scared of the devil? Has the devil damaged families and robbed our nation, or can we drive the darkness out of our land? Why would Jesus use the term “gates?” Gates are where elders sit to govern a city. The church is an ecclesia, a governing council.

In the Book of Acts, Peter was saved from being executed by Herod when an angel appeared in his cell. The angel supernaturally removed Peter’s chains and opened two iron gates: his prison cell door and the gate leading to the city. This happened because the church was fervently praying. (Acts12) What if the church had not prayed? Peter would likely have died just like James.

Gates are where we exercise authority. Jesus wants us to use our authority in Him to shut hell’s gates and open heaven’s doors. To do this, Christians need to obtain fresh power. God wants to remind us of our identity in Christ as heaven-born sons of God so we can fight in faith by using prayer and prophetic decrees to defeat our enemy.

Justice is now coming against the wicked in America. Prophetic intercession paved the way for this to begin. The Lord has sent his angel to remove the chains from godly leaders and deliver them from bondage either to the false authority of religion or from phony civil authority. God will open the gate to win the city if the church will pray! Open the gates of heaven first by prophetic high praises so the gates to our city can be opened for the gospel of the kingdom.
