How do I hear from God? by Rhonda Kerr
This is a question I still think about. I have one way that happens to me over and over. Missaha had recently asked me to write an article for the church newsletter, any topic I chose. After praying, I decided to write about something that happens to me often in my morning routine. It happened again this morning. I felt the Lord wanted me to share it. My morning routine includes writing a note to God as I start my devotional time. Here is the note I wrote this morning.
“Lord, Thank You for being NEAR, INSIDE, WITH, HOLDING MY RIGHT HAND. You are truly ALL I need!”
It was short and sweet, but then God responded. He used some items in my devotional books for today. Max Lucado’s Grace for the Moment said, “Jesus is closer than you ever dreamed.” Sarah Young’s Jesus Calling said, “You can find joy in My presence,” and “Recall that I am present with you whether you can sense My presence or not,” and “Awareness of My marvelous companionship can infuse joy in the grayest day.” I love, love, love it when God confirms things I write in my notes to Him. I’ve had days when the devotionals answered the questions I’d just asked. God is so good! This is only one of the ways God speaks to me. How does He speak to you? - Rhonda
Some responses to Rhonda’s question….
Missaha Nichols- “I often hear God when I am worshipping at the piano. It also happens when I am reading the Word. I hear God when someone is preaching.” Chris Senty- “I have to get intentional and get into a quiet place. Worship music inspires me to hear.” Jessica Senty- “Worship music, when I slow down, and still my mind. Twice I’ve heard Him audibly call my name!”
