Church Alive's Worship Ministry

John 4:23-24  But a time is coming, and even now has arrived, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers. God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth. 

Each time we gather as the body of Christ, we see God moving in greater ways. As we are shifting from the church age and into the kingdom age, we must take off our old wineskins and put on the new, or the new wine will cause us to burst. Our worship must be perfectly united in spirit and truth and we must be united in love for one another. We must throw away the man-made philosophy of performance worship and build our new foundation of biblical truth paired with the power and freedom of the Holy Spirit.

What is a Worship Leader at Church Alive? 

A worship leader is someone who loves to worship God so much that they cause others around them to worship God because of their heart-felt genuine worship. Worship leaders are servant leaders who point to God rather than themselves. You cannot lead worship from a place of performance. It must be from the heart. 

Whether you're running slides or sound, playing bass, or singing backup vocals, you are leading worship at Church Alive. I understand many people think only the worship pastor is the worship leader, but in fact we are all directing our congregation in worship and our focus is to point them to worship God using audio, visuals, and even our bodies as living sacrifices, holy and acceptable to God through the use of our giftings.  

This is a high standard, but God is able to equip us with everything we need by His Spirit if we are called to lead others in worship. We do not just have “musicians”, “audio and video tech’s” and a worship pastor at Church Alive. No, we are a team of worship leaders who, united by the Spirit, bring our praise to God and encourage the rest of the body to join us and move the heart of God as one body. 

Our mission as the Church Alive Worship Team is to lead the body of Christ in worship that is after God's heart and rooted in spirit and truth. We are not performers but worshipers who inspire others to encounter God through heartfelt, Spirit-led praise. United in humility, integrity, and love for Jesus, we use our gifts—whether in music, media, or support roles—to direct all attention to Him, creating an atmosphere where the presence of God moves freely and powerfully. 

Our vision is to cultivate a worship culture that reflects the kingdom of God—where every act of worship is guided by the Holy Spirit and grounded in biblical truth. As we step into the new wineskin of the kingdom age, we seek to be a unified body of worship leaders, free from performance-driven mindsets and fully surrendered to God’s will. Through excellence, unity, and a deep hunger for His presence, we desire to lead the Church into deeper encounters with Him, stirring hearts to worship in spirit and truth.
