Church Alive Wants You

When was the last time you looked around at Church Alive and wondered what you could contribute or give to serve this family we call Church Alive? We have been taught well over the years about God’s amazing grace that has saved us, adopted us into His family, blessed us with spiritual gifts, purpose, and definitive roles to further the establishment of His kingdom here. Church Alive is just a piece of God’s master plan for His kingdom, and He has something for each one of us become. We believe that everyone can contribute to the building up of the Body, no matter their age. Sometimes all that is needed is clear communication on what is needed. 

Several months ago, Rhonda Kerr stepped forward to help with greeting on Sunday evenings at Word of Life. She has been part of different churches over the years of her journey with Jesus. Through these experiences, she has learned what makes a successful hospitality ministry. She has said yes to the request to recruit, organize, train, and schedule folks who have said yes and the ones who will say yes to this ministry. Rhonda understands that how people are welcomed to our House can make the difference in how they view our services. This goes for visitors and regular attendees. That’s why more specific training for this team is planned.

That’s where you come into the picture. In my article I wrote last month on Practicing Hospitality in the Body of Christ, I pointed out that each one of us has the responsibility to practice this grace with one another. Won’t you consider volunteering for this ministry even once a month? The team especially needs more men to be at the doors and outside on the sidewalks to assist those who need help getting inside. Most of you may not know that we have a handicap ramp at the back door, along with handicap parking spots for those who need them. Those doors could use some hospitality. We would gladly welcome family units to volunteer. Children make the best greeters!!

We are praying that Holy Spirit will guide all of you into the truth of His purpose at Church Alive. For many, it will be contributing to the welcoming ministry. What an opportunity for all of us!
